IT'S TIME TO GET BACK TO THE BASICS OF THE GOSPEL. BACK TO THE SIMPLICITY OF THE GOSPEL BEING DISCIPLINE ONES, AND STOP LIVING MEDIOCRE LIVES.
I was sitting with the Lord this morning, and Mark 16:20 came to mind.
"And they went out and preached everywhere, THE LORD WORKING WITH THEM and CONFIRMING THE WORD THROUGH the ACCOMPANYING SIGNS. Amen." Mark 16:20 (emphasis mines)
The key here is remembering THE LORD CONFIRMS HIS WORD. It didn't say He confirms anything outside of it.
We must meditate on the Word living discipline lives, so that we may believe the Word, live according to the Word, so when it's time to preach and share the Word, we will remember also, it's not by our own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit that we see the fruit of the Word.
Zachariah 4:6 states, "... This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."
Acts 1:8 says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses... "
When doing research I found that the power referenced in Acts 1:8 means dunamis in Greek. Dunamis power is a miraculous supernatural power that is beyond human strength.
We should be preaching and declaring the Word under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as discipline ones that have been sent by God. This is not something we can afford to do in our own understanding, in human strength, or just based off what we think we know. We must be led by the Spirit of God, and remain vigilant.
Romans 8:14 , "For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God."
We should also remember it's about the UNITY of those who are standing together. That they be on ONE ACCORD, and not allowing the enemy to use his tactics to bring division, as well as being divided in their beliefs.
Acts 5:12, "And through the hands of the apostles MANY SIGNS AND WONDERS WERE DONE among the people. AND THEY WERE ALL WITH ONE ACCORD in Solomon’s Porch." (emphasis mines)
Last night while talking to a friend I heard the word MEDIOCRE.
MEDIOCRE is a state of spiritual lukewarmness, complacency, or settling for less than one’s full potential in serving God. It's spiritual apathy and sloth (or laziness). It represents a stagnant, moderate faith per Google via multiple sources.
Jesus says, “I KNOW YOUR WORKS, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth." Revelation 3:15-16 (emphasis mines)
There is a problem. A big problem within the church here in America, and spiritual apathy is a part of that problem. Too many in the church have settled for less than what the Word of God teaches, and are doing less than what the Word of God requires. We have settled for results that do not align with what the early church in the book of Acts saw. We have become extremely distracted, and many have allowed the enemy to rock them to sleep in the spirit in some of the most vital moments. We have become complacent with doing just enough that so happens to be not enough.
It's not about striving to see fruit, or doing all these different tactics we think works. It is simply sitting at the feet of Jesus to hear and obey, so that we may decree and declare His Word while being led by the Holy Spirit.
We should be asking the Father questions as to why we are not seeing the results/fruit that the early church saw. Where are we misaligned?
We can indeed ask the Father questions for those who feel we can't question God. That's an attitude of one that's thinking from a religious mindset, and not a relationship with the Father. It's the heart and attitude in which you ask Him. That's like me saying my son can't ask me questions. God is a loving Father that sees all and knows all, and is willing to uncover what's hidden when you ask (Jeremiah 33:3).
I know this because I went to the Father and asked questions concerning myself and my own misalignments. He gave me answers, ones that were hard to hear that I had to repent for.
As we continue to grow in the Lord we must allow the Lord to strengthen and stretch us beyond the capacity we think is unachievable. This helps to better prepare us and discipline us, and it positions us for victory for later battles.
Hebrews 12:11, "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."
