OBEY THE VOICE OF GOD OVER MAN'S VOICE.

Lately, I have been feeling grieved in my spirit and could not fully grasp why until yesterday. I am really careful about who prophetic words I read and the prophets I listen to or go to for wisdom. The other day, I was listening to a prophet I trusted, but I felt something off concerning a teaching they were giving to other prophets. I know everything is not a matter of fact and some things are based solely on their experiences, and convictions, however, I was really vexed in my spirit concerning there revelation and or opinions on some things. It was from a matter of fact place. This is how you are to operate as a prophet. This just did not sit well with me.
I went to the Lord for myself concerning the teaching because, again, I trust this prophet's voice. The Lord then reminded me of the young prophet and the older prophet in 1 Kings 13. He reminded me that He gave the young prophet a specific word for a people group and a specific command for himself. When tempted by the king of the people to go in another direction that the Lord commanded him not to, the young prophet did not waver. He released what God told him to release and chose to take heed to the command God gave him for himself.
The miracles, signs, and wonders the young prophet operated in got back to an older prophet. The older prophet decided to go meet the young prophet. In this, the older prophet tempted the younger prophet in the same way the king did, but at first, the young prophet did not waver from what the Lord commanded him to do. The older prophet then said, "
He said to him, “I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD, saying, ‘Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’ ” (He was lying to him) 1 Kings 13:18
The young prophet chose to listen and follow the voice of the older prophet because of the revelation the older prophet said he had gotten. In this, the young prophet did not take heed to the voice of God that SPOKE DIRECTLY TO HIM with specific instructions. The young prophet allowed the older prophet to use his rank in experience against him ignorantly. This cost the younger prophet his life.
1 Kings 13:21-22, "‘Because you have disobeyed the word of the LORD, and have not kept the commandment which the LORD your God commanded you, but you came back, ate bread, and drank water in the place of which the LORD said to you, “Eat no bread and drink no water,” your corpse shall not come to the tomb of your fathers.’ ”
1 Kings 13:24, "When he was gone, a lion met him on the road and killed him. And his corpse was thrown on the road, and the donkey stood by it. The lion also stood by the corpse."
It is extremely important that we OBEY the voice of God over the voice of man. It is vital that we try the spirit by the Spirit no matter how much we honor or love those who we admire. It is important that we have an intimate relationship with Jesus for ourselves and not contingent on someone elses. WE NEED TO KNOW, WE TOO HEAR FROM GOD, AND WILL NOT ALLOW ANYONE NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE TO PERSUADE US TO DO THE DIRECT OPPOSITE OF WHAT GOD TOLD US TO DO.
There will be assignments and things the Father will have you do that others that you may honor may be blind to and totally against. Whose voice will you obey? Theirs or God's? You may be built and move in a way that is not in their prophet's guidelines. Who guidelines will you follow? Theirs or God's?
There is a cost we pay either way, but the cost to following man's voice over the voice of God comes at a price you can not afford. There is a grace to do the things the Father has assigned you to no matter the difficulty. You are protected and covered when you are in alignment with God. To step outside of that and do or move in a way that satisfies man, WILL LEAVE YOU UNCOVERED. It does not matter if everyone disagrees with what you are called to do, but if you choose to do what God has called you to do... YOU ARE COVERED BY GOD! There are people who feel that without the covering of man, you have no covering. That is not true. When you are in full surrender and in obedience to God, you are always covered. He will raise up complete strangers, brothers, and sisters in the faith to pray for you.
OBEY THE VOICE OF THE LORD, OVER MAN'S VOICE.
2 Timothy 2:15, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth".
1 John 4:1, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God;"
Deuteronomy 28:1, “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth
2 Corinthians 9:8, "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
