WARNING: WE NEED PEOPLE IN THE FIELD. IS THE CHURCH PREPARED FOR THE GREAT HARVEST?
I woke up and heard the lyrics, "Jesus is the King, and He is alive. Hallelujah, Jesus is alive" by Forest Frank playing repeatedly in my spirit. I immediately thought the harvest is ripe NOW. There is a door opened for many to walk into the lives of the broken, and lost to share the UNALTERED Gospel of Jesus Christ. To share that hope can only be found in the King of kings! Jesus is His name!
"But when He saw the multitudes, He was MOVED WITH COMPASSION for them, because THEY WERE WEARY AND SCATTERED, like SHEEP HAVING NO SHEPHERD." Matthew 9:36 (emphasis mines)
"Then He said to His disciples, “The HARVEST truly is PLENTIFUL, but the LABORERS ARE FEW." Matthew 9:37 (emphasis mines)
We NEED PEOPLE IN THE FIELD to gather the harvest, and people positioned to EQUIP and DISCIPLE the harvest. To many, not all, within the four walls of buildings we call church are doing church, and not being the church. We are too comfortable and overly consumed with things that have no purpose. We are too busy trying to grow our church numbers rather than equip those that are already there. We put performance based worship and preaching before the souls and cares of the people. There are many churches filled with powerless, compromised, corrupted, and unloving Christians. Help us Jesus!
What is it to go gather, but not equip? If you do not equip the people with the tools they need to stand against spiritual warfare, the majority of those people will eventually either give up and walk away from Jesus, live a compromised, corrupted, or lukewarm life while still attending and serving at your churches. (Ephesians 4:11-12)
I've found over the last past several years that many, but not all churches have no clue on what REAL COMMUNITY is, and nothing set in place to equip those that come into their churches.
I've asked the Lord questions about my time here with my son in California, because it's been sacrificial. It's not comfortable for us. As I was driving the Lord began to show me the path that I've had to take to reach people for the last 7 years was preparation for me to train others that He will send in the field to gather the lost sheep, the hopeless, and broken. Starting with training my son for the field. It's for the harvest outside the four walls. He revealed these things because I have struggled with how hard the path He has sent me on has been. He revealed the why. We have since come into contact with the broken, one suicidal, and one just starting his journey, but need to be equipped here. We connected with them all to help them continue to grow beyond our one encounter.
Why do I share this... You need to know some assignments requires sacrifice and is not easy, but the fruit and your obedience to Jesus makes it worth it.
“Gather to Me My FAITHFUL ones, who MADE A COVENANT with Me BY SACRIFICE!” Psalm 50:5 (emphasis mines)
The Lord is looking for faithful people who will leave the comfort to go reach the lost in the field. Where the covenant between Him and them truly becomes a sacrifice. Here's the thing... IT'S TEMPORARY. The discomfort is not permanent. It has a timestamp of IT IS FINISHED. This is where we must learn to persevere and endure, not always making things about us. HELP US JESUS!
"For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries." 1 Corinthians 16:9
Paul shared how the moment he crossed over into a door of opportunity to share the Gospel there were many adversaries he had to face. However, the work was still effective. That is exactly what it has been for my son and I in California. It's been effective work, but many adversaries. Momentary suffering to reach people.
In all of this it shows the heart of God for people, and the importance of us having His heart while we are about His business.
